O, The Oprah Magazine enjoyed its 10 Year Anniversary celebration this past weekend in New York. Oprah came over from Chicago for the “Live Your Best Life” celebration – the tagline of the magazine. A big shout out to Gayle, Adam and Mamie who we have worked with from the beginning!  It’s always such a joy working with everyone over there and we look forward to 10 more years.

The Bonnie Hunt Show was an absolute pleasure to work on and Brina and Kelly are sad to say goodbye as they rejoin the LA office with Kellie, bringing Abigail along with them. Working with Bonnie, Don, and Daniel has been a joy...And CONGRATULATIONS to Bonnie for her Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Talk Show Host! You deserve it!

First Quarter of 2010

We're almost done with the first quarter of 2010, and so far it has been quite a decade.

Over in the late night world, things were shaken up right at the beginning, and Jimmy Kimmel Live! was right there with it. First, Jimmy did his entire show as Jay Leno (in case you missed it go HERE), then he went on The Jay Leno Show at the 10@10 spot:

He rounded out the two weeks of mayhem with a Ken Burns-esque mockumentary of the “Late Night War”. All of his hilarious coverage landed him in the middle of the EW Bullseye, as well as a rise in numbers.

Must currently JKL's numbers are...

ADULTS 18-49
Kimmel 0.81 million
Ferguson 0.79 million
Fallon 0.70 million

Granted, Ferguson might tell you otherwise.

And make sure you tune in to the "Jimmy Kimmel Live: After the Academy Awards" LIVE on SUNDAY, MARCH 7, immediately following late local news (12:05-1:05 a.m., ET, approx). Previous "Jimmy Kimmel Live: After the Academy Awards" celebrations have welcomed Hollywood's biggest movie stars, including two-time Academy Award winner Mel Gibson, Emmy Award winners Jon Stewart and Ellen Degeneres, as well as Academy Award winner Ben Affleck, who starred in Kimmel's viral sensation "I'm F***ing Ben Affleck". Viewers of the 2009 Academy Awards telecast also caught a very special 30-second promo featuring the host as he rescued Tom Cruise from a burning home.

Over at The Bonnie Hunt Show, things are moving along swiftly. We've had some great guests including Serena Williams, Kara DioGuardi, Paul Bettany, and Ray Liotta. Lily Tomlin also came by to reflect on her childhood.

Star World's ASIA UNCUT has been hugely successful this second season. After a revamp of the set, some great reviews, and some great guests including Jamie Lynn Sigler, Edward Norton, Dane Cook, Tom Arnold and Jackie Chan, this show is on its way to the top. American host Jon Niermann is a lot of fun, and we've enjoyed working with everyone over there in Shanghai. Be sure to watch full episodes here and become a fan on Facebook, but for now here is the clip reel from this season:

Most recently we are excited to join the team over at The Wanda Sykes Show. Emmy Award-winning actress, comedian, and author Wanda Sykes hosts this innovative and irreverent Saturday late-night series. “The Wanda Sykes Show” features Sykes’ personal take on the events of the week punctuated by field pieces and comedy segments. Each Saturday night at 11pm ET/PT, Sykes leads a discussion with regular panelists and famous friends. Previous and future guests include Ray Romano, Donald Faison, Snoop Dogg, Neil Patrick Harris, and Megan Mullally. Check out the sizzle reel below:

Wanda is outperforming the 09/10 season averages for late night among 18-49, Adults 18-34/25-54, and key men/women demos over:
• Late Night with Jimmy Fallon
• Last Call with Carson Daly
• The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson

Wanda is outperforming the late-night cable talkers earlier in the year by +33% among Adults 18-49, +40% among Adults 18-34, and +51% in Total Viewers:
• Lopez Tonight on TBS
• The Mo’Nique Show on BET among Adults 18-49

The Marriage Ref has been a lot of fun and full of laughter. We're excited and gearing up for the special Feb. 28th preview after the closing ceremonies at the Olympics on NBC, and of course, the premiere on March 4th at 10pm on NBC, both featuring Alec Baldwin, Kelly Ripa and the man himself, Jerry Seinfeld. Also, we are thrilled that Madonna was just announced as a participant! She'll be appearing alongside funnyman Ricky Gervais. Be sure to keep up with this wonderful and hilarious show!!

As we continue embarking on these great shows, we just want to say that working on The Grammy Awards this year was an amazing experience. We are so impressed with Ken Ehrlich; he is truly the best. Also, a quick shout out to Chantel. In case you missed it, here is the speech by Stephen Colbert who opened up the show!

In addition to Stephen Colbert, Kristen Bell and Josh Duhamel presented Taylor Swift with The Best Country Album Award, Quentin Tarantino introduced a special performance by Lil Wayne, Eminem, Drake and Travis Barker, Jennifer Lopez introduced a performance by Green Day and Broadway's American Idiot, and Lea Michele presented Best Female Vocal Performance with Ricky Martin.

The March issue of Oprah Magazine teaches you how to declutter your life. And what's a better way to do it than with Oprah's interview with Thich Nhat Hanh. Also, Ethan Hawke shares the books on his book shelf, Eva Longoria Parker talks about her Aha! Moment, and Norah Jones shows what's currently on her playlist. Also, be sure to check out O's Exclusive Preview of Narciso Rodriguez's eBay Collection!

We have other great shows in the returning as well...

After the success of the second CBS special "I Get That A Lot," which won its time slot, receiving 8.31 million viewers, we are hard at work at the third special! Check out the full episode here and stay tuned for more! We are also excited that TV One's "Life After" was renewed for a new season, so be sure to watch out for the premiere! In case you missed it, catch up with full episodes featuring Bel Biv Devoe, Daryl "Chill" Mitchell, and Al Reynolds here.

And of course, the always fun The Webby Awards is returning to New York for the 14th Annual celebration on June 14th, 2010 at Cipriani Wall Street. Past honorees have included World Wide Web inventor Sir Tim Berners Lee, Prince, David Bowie, Lisa Kudrow, Beastie Boys, Lorne Michaels, Stephen Colbert, will.i.am, former Vice President Al Gore, Sarah Silverman, Jimmy Fallon, Twitter Co-Founder Biz Stone, Trent Reznor, David Byrne, YouTube Co-Founders Steve Chen and Chad Hurley, Michel Gondry, and Meg Whitman to name a few... Check out some of the fun moments from last year's awards below:

Also, we are thrilled to announce that Ellyn Spragins' latest collection of stories named "What I Know Now About Success" is done! It's packed full of gems of wisdom about achieving success in letters written by Soledad O'Brien, Suze Orman, Kate Spade, Suzy Welch, Trish McEvoy and dozens more. What I Know Now About Success will be in stores on April 26th and can be pre-ordered now. More information on Twitter or at LettersToMy YoungerSelf.com.

Summer 2009

Summer is almost over, and although it's been a wet and rainy one on the East coast, it's been a good one.

Jimmy Kimmel Live has had a great summer, and is ready for Fall. This summer, Jimmy dedicated a week to Judd Apatow’s comedy “Funny People, and Seth Rogen, Leslie Mann, Jonah Hill and newcomer Aubrey Plaza visited the show. Kimmel was also the first stop on Quentin Tarantino’s press tour for Inglourious Basterds, where he talked about smoking and drinking with Brad Pitt in his French vineyard and his wax figure. And most recently, Jimmy amazed Gordon Ramsay with his own homemade marinara sauce.

"The Bonnie Hunt Show" premieres on September 8th, and is ready for a great 2nd season. And just in time too - everyone agrees that Bonnie is the best! Daytime viewers enthusiastically rank Bonnie Hunt in the “Top 5 Most Likable and Appealing Personalities.” People.com consistently picks The Bonnie Hunt Show as one of Daytime TV’s Top 5 Moments. CTB just completed booking for the online show Peter Mehlman’s “Narrow World of Sports”. The show’s host is Peter Mehlman, former Writer/Producer of “Seinfeld,” and features interviews from a variety of sports people. The last batch of interviews just posted, including Orlando Hudson, Derek Fisher, Sugar Ray Leonard, Blake Griffin (below).

Moving from one sports show to another, CTB just recently started booking for “The Joe Buck Show” on HBO. The show’s debut episode was talked about throughout the media world and beyond, and now “Joe Buck Live” returns to HBO on Tuesday night, September 22nd for another special hour of conversation with the biggest names in sports. Not just a sports talk show, “Joe Buck Live” stands out as event television, done live in front of a studio audience of sports fans in midtown Manhattan. In June, the debut episode garnered praise and attention and included a wide range of guests from the worlds of sports and entertainment, including a news-making interview with Brett Favre -- his only extended, one-on-one interview since his retirement. A mixture of one-on-one interviews and discussions with a few guests at once, the program promises a mixture of news-making headliners and thought-provoking topics. It also marks a highly-anticipated transition from the play-by-play announcer’s booth to the talk show host’s chair for the premiere sports broadcaster of his generation, six-time Emmy winner Joe Buck. Stay tuned for more from this exciting show!

We also just started working with Yahoo! on a new show called “Spotlight to Nightlight” on omg! Launched in June 2007, omg! dominates the world of online celebrity news thanks to its unique voice and positive tone. After discovering that users couldn’t seem to get enough about expectant stars and their children, omg! created a blog all about hot celebrity moms called Goddess, because at the end of the day, isn’t that what every mother is? Now, Goddess has its own original online video program called “Spotlight to Nightlight”, which premiered in April 2009. Each week, host Ali Landry sits down with other celebrity moms to chat about how they handled their pregnancies, parenting challenges, and the special moments they spend with their children as well as any projects that they would like to promote. Kellie just went to the taping with Alison Sweeney from "The Biggest Loser" at Nomi Boutique in LA and had a great time. Check back on the website for updates and interviews.

Oprah Magazine continues to surprise and inspire with September 2009's issue. Jennifer Garner shares the Books that Made a Difference, including cookbooks and a particular American historian she swoons for. Isabella Rossellini shares her Aha! Moment about growing older. And Oprah introduces us to the adorable Nashville songwriter Landon Pigg in the CD feature. CTB also just started working on the CBS special “I Get That A Lot.” After a successful debut on April Fool’s Day featuring Heidi Klum, Jessica Simpson, LeAnn Rimes, Mario Lopez, Ice-T and Jeff Probst, CBS has ordered three more editions of the special that follows celebrities as they “work.” The debut drew 10 million viewers and won its time period in adults 18-49 (3.4 rating/10 share). Please see the full episode HERE. All captured on hidden camera, the show centers on celebrities playing practical jokes on the unsuspecting public by posing as employees in various everyday occupations such as waiters, valets, cashiers, salespersons, etc. Upon being recognized, celebrities will deny the discovery by using the show’s catchphrase, “I Get That A Lot.” Be sure to tune into the next special, airing in November Sweeps.

CTB is also already gearing up for 2010’s Webby Awards. Hosted by the hilarious Seth Meyers, this year’s Webby Awards saw such winners as Trent Reznor, Lisa Kudrow and Sarah Silverman, with presenters Cameron Diaz, Alan Cumming, and Martha Stewart. Be on the lookout for next year's show, currently scheduled for June 14, 2010 in New York City.

Finally, we dedicate this blog to Joanna's brother, Anthony "Herb" Owen, who recently passed away in Spain. He was a wonderful man, and loved very much by his friends and family, and will be missed greatly. Please see the slideshow below.
